I recently got a chance to talk with Dr. Ernest Morrell, Coyle Professor of Literacy Education at the University of Notre Dame, who shared some valuable tips for strengthening writing and media literacy instruction in a distance or hybrid learning environment.

 Ernest Morrell, Ph.D. is an author on the Savvas myView and myPerspectives K-12 literacy solutions and the Coyle Professor of Literacy Education as well as the Director of the Center for Literacy Education at the University of Notre Dame. He is a class of 2014 Fellow of the American Educational Research Association and the past President of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). He is also the Director of Teachers College’s Institute for Urban and Minority Education (IUME). Dr. Morrell also received recognition for being one of the top 100 university-based education scholars in the 2016 RHSU Edu-Scholar Public Influence Ranking. He is also an award-winning published author.
