PARAMUS, N.J. — June 2, 2020 — Savvas Learning Company, a K-12 next-generation learning solutions company, is proud to announce that its SuccessMaker® adaptive learning program received a Gold Stevie® Award in the 2020 American Business Awards®, with one judge hailing it as “a great formula for student success.”
“We are so pleased that our SuccessMaker program has earned this prestigious award,” said Bethlam Forsa, CEO of Savvas Learning Company. “At Savvas, we are deeply committed to helping all learners achieve. This has never been more critical than now with educators needing to address learning loss created by coronavirus-related school closures. SuccessMaker gives them the tools to do that. This true adaptive learning program provides teachers the adaptability, personalization, and deep differentiation to meet the diverse learning needs of their students, in an environment that empowers each of them to be successful.”
SuccessMaker K-8 Reading and Math Adaptive Learning earned top honors in the “PreK-12 Personalized Learning Solution” category, which recognizes the best education solutions specifically developed to provide adaptive, personalized learning; competency-based progression; and student-driven learning pathways. The American Business Awards is the country’s premier business awards program. More than 230 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners.
SuccessMaker is designed to evaluate, support and challenge learners in a way that's right for them based upon actual performance. It offers personalized supplemental, differentiated, and intervention instruction for students in grades K–8 through an adaptive-learning engine coupled with small-group, teacher-led support using blended print lessons and resources. With content organized across 14 instructional strands, SuccessMaker provides a seamless math and reading experience delivered outside of core-classroom lessons.
The panel of judges praised SuccessMaker for its “individualization and interactivity,” with one judge noting “how it adjusts instruction to learning needs, moving the teacher to facilitation and a more strategic role. It would seem to be a great formula for student success.” Another judge remarked that SuccessMaker is “innovative, adaptive, and incredibly needed right now. … The most interesting benefit is SuccessMaker’s game-like features and microlearning (in small bursts). There’s no embarrassment for low achievers and no boredom for high achievers. And there’s no test anxiety.”
“SuccessMaker is uniquely designed to provide teachers with continuous formative assessment and easy-to-interpret reports for a detailed view of student-performance information,” said Richard Heater, vice president of Intervention and Supplemental for Savvas Learning Company.
“Whether tracking student progress toward specific performance targets or monitoring time on the system to ensure that students meet school- and high-stakes testing goals, SuccessMaker allows teachers to monitor student performance on an individual basis and at every grade level.”
