Both programs were explicitly built to support the implementation of the California Framework's five research-based themes. Instruction aligns closely with state mandates and the 2025 Roadmap to ensure students are thoroughly prepared for future academic challenges and grade-level milestones. Collectively, reading, writing, speaking, listening, language development, and knowledge building work together in every unit and lesson so that students actively engage with complex texts, collaborative discussions, and meaningful learning experiences.

The programs use a vertically articulated design that spirals skills across Kindergarten through Grade 5. Following the brain's natural learning process, they integrate explicit instruction in foundational areas (like phonics) and gradually shift focus toward fluency, vocabulary, and complex comprehension. Structured and dedicated lessons in Savvas myVoice ELD, our Designated ELD curriculum, support English learners in a pull-out or push-in capacity. Yes. myView Literacy California is grounded in decades of reading research and the Science of Reading. myView Literacy California develops both word recognition and language comprehension through explicit daily instruction in phonics and phonological awareness, fluency practice, vocabulary development, knowledge building, and comprehension work. myView Literacy California also leverages the latest research in the integrated relationship between reading and writing to ensure that students are fluent in the conventions and mechanics of writing.

The program features a comprehensive, data-driven MTSS framework to adjust to student needs across three tiers:

• Tier 1 (Core Instruction): High-quality, evidence-based instruction for all students using the Gradual Release Model.
• Tier 2 (Targeted Small Group Intervention): Uses Progress Monitoring Quick Checks and the myFoundations Teacher's Guide/miEnfoque Intervención to deliver immediate, data-driven corrective instruction.
• Tier 3 (Protocols Support and Practice): Intensive support for students with significant needs, utilizing focused skill sequencing, expanded practice, and frequent progress monitoring to bridge learning gaps.

Reading selections are organized around themes and include science and social studies content. By conducting research and answering "Essential Questions" through project-based inquiry, students build the background knowledge bank necessary to tackle increasingly complex texts.

The Savvas Realize® platform serves as the central digital hub for the curriculum.

• For Students: Offers full digital access to a suite of literacy resources, including all student materials and decodable books, allowing students to annotate text and respond directly within interactive editions. Accessibility: Meets Section 508 standards, providing read-aloud audio, high-contrast highlighting, screen reader compatibility, and digital note-taking.
• For Teachers: Provides scripted lesson components, "Think Aloud" prompts, and a digital slide sorter to personalize, rearrange, or upload original lesson materials. It also automatically scores digital assessments and generates visualizations, such as the Mastery by Standard Report, to track student progress against California state standards.

The curriculum provides a comprehensive suite of formative and summative assessments: Formative Assessments: Ongoing classroom tools like Turn, Talk, and Share, Quick Checks, and Selection Quizzes monitor comprehension in real-time. Yes. The program includes a fully digital Dyslexia Screener for Grades K-5 to ensure early identification. It also integrates with Momentum Literacy, an adaptive, norm-referenced K-5 assessment administered three times a year. This tracks progress toward grade-level expectations and forecasts future student performance on the CAASPP/ Smarter Balanced® 
ELA assessments.
