The Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grant (SSAE) is a new Title IV program designed to improve access to a well-rounded education, improve school conditions for learning, and improve the use of technology.
The Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grant (SSAE) consolidates multiple federal grants into one program.
What can be funded: SSAE has three categories of allowable activities:
Distribution of funds: Local Education Agencies will receive SSAE funds by formula based on their Title I allocation. Allocations to Local Education Agencies must be a minimum of $10,000.
Schools to be served: Districts must submit applications to the State describing how funds will serve schools that:
If a district receives more than $30,000 in SSAE funds, at least 20% must be spent on activities that support student access to well-rounded educational opportunities.
