Technology is an integral part of 21st century learning. Effectively using technology in the classroom has been shown to increase students’ learning, increase motivation and engagement with content, and personalize learning for each student. Designed to promote student engagement and collaboration, develop critical thinking skills and support differentiated and personalized learning through the use of classroom technology, the SMART Learning Institute equips teachers with strategies and tools for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of technology are provided. Teachers are provided with opportunities to collaborate with teachers from other subject areas to increase the effective use of classroom technology.
In this institute, participants will investigate the various ways that technology could be used in the classroom, the benefits of each, how they can incorporate technology into their own classrooms and schools, and how they can support tech integration through coaching, mentoring, and evaluating.
